Hello, Nice to Meet You
Well, hello there … We are the Francia family and we own and operate Awesome Travel Guides. Our family has a deep history with travel, in fact, my Mom (Colleen) and Dad (Josh) actually met while they were working at an online travel company (many, many years ago). They're pretty old, I mean they were both born in the 1900s!! Love at first sight? Not exactly, but if you're interested you can read all about their love story(ew!) on our blog.
Two Parents, Five Kids & Endless Entertainment
So I guess you could say that our family starting a travel company is fitting considering where Mom and Dad met. Ok, well, like I said that was AGES AGO, so let’s get to the more recent (and best) stuff, you know where the kids come into the picture.
There are five kids, yes FIVE … That always takes a minute for it to sync in, especially if they have three or less kids. Much longer if they have no kids.
Pierce is the oldest, then Macy, then Melody (that’s me!) and to round out the group, Mom and Dad were getting a little bored of raising one kid at a time, so they decided to have twins!!
Meet Kent and Shane, our adorable (and rambunctious ) fraternal twin brothers.
We're Having Twins!
Check out this video when Mom surprised Dad with the news. (Dad hates this, but EVERYONE ELSE loves it!). I’m determined to make it the number one video on YouTube some day. HELP ME!
We live in North Carolina and LOVE traveling to new places and experiencing the local cultures.
Dad wants to teach us kids the basics of running a business and instill in us something he calls “accountability” and “fortitude”. Whatever that means?
Mom on the other hand LOVES to make plans and strategies on how to make the most of our vacations. As a side note: They only call it a vacation when my siblings and I aren’t with them. When it’s the whole family, they call it a trip! (How rude?)
Make Every Trip Awesome
My Mom and Dad build out the guides, but me and my siblings run “pretty much” everything else. Pierce is our tech wizard and handles all the nerdy website stuff. Macy is our designer and makes sure everything looks amazing. She designed the Awesome (pun intended) logo (OMG … I LOVE IT). Kent and Shane are quality assurance and comic relief. They keep everyone getting along. Family businesses can be stressful! As for me, I’m the brand spokesperson (if you couldn’t tell by now) and social marketer extraordinaire.
We named the company Awesome Travel Guides because we want everyone to have Awesome vacations all the time. And never feel that a vacation was just OKAY because they didn’t know what to do, where to stay, what to eat and all the awesome adventures they could have had.
Come say hi and follow, like, subscribe (is that all of the actions?) on the socials. We’ll see you there!
XO - Melody
OH, I ALMOST FORGOT! We also have a cool merch store where you can get Awesome (obviously) branded gear for your travels.
